Teachings of Jesus Cover web.jpg

The words Jesus spoke while walking this earth are available. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35

The words Jesus spoke are important. If a man love me, he will keep my words, and my Father will love him; and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not does not keep my sayings. John 14:23, 24

Bible teachers will profit from using this book. For personal study and reference material. Encourage students to compare and use Jesus as the authority. If His words are important, all students need access to those words.

Parents need the spoken teachings for the children.

Pastors, the most influential group in the witnessing ministry, need to review His words often.

The Teachings of Jesus is as close to the words Jesus used as I am capable of expressing, using the King James English. The word "And" that I would often like to eliminate along with a long list of "that", offer a useful rhythm. Verily, verily: adds emphasis to the passage. So! the King James is almost intact.

You will judge as to the success of this effort. I, like Paul, do not claim to have attained or apprehended but our Father has allowed me to have a part in producing a unique book: containing The Words of Jesus and listing of entire Gospel texts in approximate chronological order, with little personal comment.

The Triumph of Grace cover Vol 1.gif

Some years ago, William L ‘Bill’ Staub was the Minister at the Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. This is a scholarly work that discusses the human mind in relation to the mind of God. The author’s premise is that "rationality is part of the created order, not an attribute of God." In developing this thesis, Staub maintains that in the first human instance, that which is recounted in the story of creation and the Garden of Eden, humans lived by ‘grace." When they sinned they fell from grace. From that time rationality became a tool of humankind. It is not an attribute of God although it is a part of the created order under which humankind has lived since that moment of falling from grace. At first reading, the subtle differences seem faint almost obscure. However, when one gives much thought to the development and expanding of the premise, there seems to be a real difference. The following quotes most articulately state much of the substance of the work. "The mind of God is not that which the Greeks discovered of the relationship existing between the mind of man and the structure of the universe that which makes coping with the world and the doing of all of the sciences humanly possible despite the truth that we are only mortal... But is this the only distinction to be made between the minds of human beings and the Mind God? Or does this even bring us to grips with what our minds really are ontologically, or from "In the beginning..." when it was God, from within whatever and whoever God was and is, in his Mind, who created everything including the rational mind of humanity?" Staub says that this book like ‘new wine’ and that it might well be appreciated more in the 21st. century than in the present. He may be right, but whenever it is appreciated will be because of the thought and intelligent approach to such a thought provoking subject. As another Presbyterian Minister and dear friend once wrote of a book he reviewed, ‘This is hearty stuff for the head and heady stuff for the heart.’ Damon Weber, editor, Caldwell Messenger. Caldwell Kansas.
